Looking Forward to a Safari Holiday Tanzania

We all know how exciting it can be just planning and looking forward to a holiday and that feeling is intensified manifold when it is your first holiday aboard for five years and you are going on a family safari holiday Tanzania style. We had not actually planned on going away last year since we had just spent so much money on fixing up the house but in the end we decided that we ought to go with the saying "in for a penny, in for a pound" and seeing that we had already spent so much money on our credit card, we would be reckless for once and splash out on a proper holiday- the belt tightening could wait till we returned!

It may seem reckless but I must admit that it was the best decision we had had made for a long time and one which we found out to be worthwhile in the long run. The children were old enough to appreciate everything and also old enough to enjoy some freedom, giving us the chance to relax and unwind after a difficult year. The choice of a safari holiday was easy since all the kids had shown an interest from the first time we had mentioned it and it was something which I had always wanted to do ever since I read the book "Walkabout" at school. I know that the book is set in Australia and is about a different culture but for some reason I have always wanted to go on a safari holiday Tanzania style.

Africa is a popular destination with tourists and is quite safe, depending on where you go and what you want to do. To enjoy the full experience of a safari holiday, it is not necessary to rough it and there are many luxury resorts where you can get the full on safari experience. Travel can greatly expand your mind, as long as you go with the correct attitude and accept that some things may not go to plan, but to be able to adjust your ideas at short notice is something that not everyone can do.

Anyway, we were all excited and spent the time leading up to the holiday discussing all the things which we wanted to do and see as well shopping and getting prepared. It is always sensible to go through a reputable company and do as much research as you can before you leave. We read all about the weather, the customs, the attractions and the animals we could expect to see. Preparing was fun and the holiday was amazing.

To see the sun set in the Serengeti and to see the animals in their natural settings was a sight which none of us will ever forget. I would recommend a safari holiday to anyone who can afford it, as something which will definitely be a once in a lifetime experience since the initial impression is one which will hit you like a ton of bricks.
